The
Podere di Pieve farming estate is located on
the Chianti hills, in the district of Tavarnelle
Val di
Pesa, just a few kilometres from Florence. The
territory is typically unique and its contribution
to the
obtainment of top quality products is beyond
doubt.
The farming estate takes its name from the ancient
Romanesque church of the “Pieve” (i.e.,
parish).
According to the very first documents available
to us, which date back to 998 AD, the parish
comprised
all the nearby farms, including the Podere di
Pieve.
The Podere di Pieve is owned and run with great
dedication and passion by Giorgio and Andrea
Mori,
who are also the owners of Toscana Enologica
Mori, manufacturer of machinery for the wine
and oil
industries boasting over thirty years of experience.
The masterly restructuring works performed on
the farmhouse have brought the old, underground
cellars back to surface. They have been accurately
refurbished so as to enhance their ancient traits
in
full respect of the territory’s distinctive
character.
The family atmosphere that pervades the Podere
di Pieve is closely bound to tradition but does
not
deviate from a well-defined aim: continued search
for quality integrated with new technological
trends
and respect for nature.
